Nixon Jakob

On December 18, 2008 with the strength of faith and the comfort of God's love, we held our little boy Nixon Colin Jakob as he made his journey home. We spent seven precious weeks with our first born who was without question a blessing and miracle from God.

Besides his loving parents Colin and Trina Friesen, Nixon is survived by his very special grandparents Cornell and Darlene Friesen, Bryan and Helene Mantler; great-grandparents Edward and Katherine Bartel, Cornelius and Margaret Friesen, Hilda Neufeld, and Mary Mantler; uncles Joel and Avery Friesen, Russell Mantler, and Rob Brown; auntie Karen; and Kayden, Carter and Jordan his three cousins who were not able to meet Nixon but spent every night praying for him. He will also be missed by a large extended family and group of friends. Nixon was predeceased by his great-grandparents Jakob Neufeld and John Mantler.

Nixon's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Foothills NICU, the Alberta Children's Hospital, and his primary nurse Robin Pavan.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, with Pastors Manfred Boller and Mark Dyck, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Foothills NICU c/o Coaldale Mennonite Church, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, AB T1M 1G3.
