It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, brother and friend Orlando Nigro, who passed away on Friday September 9th, 2011, at the age of 62.

Orlando was born on June 18, 1949 in Tufo, Italy, to Fiore and Assunta Nigro. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 at the age of 17, following in the footsteps of two older siblings. He chose to establish himself in Winnipeg where he worked as a tailor and later began his career as a carpenter. In 1967 Orlando met his future wife, Vicky Leone and they married in 1971. In 1981 Orlando moved his family to Lethbridge, and later established a custom home building business, which he successfully operated for 30 years until his passing. Orlando was known in the industry as a dedicated craftsman, upstanding businessman and a mentor to many.
He was a member of the Lethbridge Home Builders' Association and the Italian Canadian Club, where he had many friends.

Orlando took great pride in his family, his work and his heritage. He was passionate about woodworking, gardening, the outdoors and enjoying the ""little things in life"".

He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife, of 40 years, Vicky, his daughters Rita (Garry) and Carla (Chris), his sisters Carmella of Foggia, Gaudenzia (Mario) of New York, Graziella of Tufo, sister-in-law Maria also of Tufo, brother-in-law Carmine of Milano and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Isinalda, his brother Nicola, brothers-in-law Domenico and Federico and his nephew Angelo.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm, on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, led by Father Fernando Genogaling.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am, on Friday, September 16, 2011 at ST. MARTHA'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Father Fernando Genogaling celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Michael's Health Care Center, 1400 - 9 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
