George Nemeth

Official Obituary of

3/11/1945 - to - 16/8/2020

George Steve Nemeth, Husband, Daddy, Bub (Grandpa), Father in Law, amazing hugger, gentle giant, MacGyver, and superhero, peacefully took his final country road home to heaven on August 16, 2020, at the age of 74. He wanted everyone to know he is now on a permanent vacation with his son Ryan Nemeth.

George loved nature and the outdoors. Any chance to be outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, kayaking, motorbiking, or working on his yard, is where you would find him.  Growing up on a farm outside of Coaldale had a part to play in making George a MacGyver who made things like go-carts, ice cream carts, waterfalls, igloos, and treehouses seemingly magically out of nothing. George was also an avid photographer of nature and had thousands of photos to share with anyone who would come to visit.

George met his one true love, Arendina (Dianne) Nemeth, and they married on June 28, 1969.  He was an amazing father and superhero to Leanne (Brad) Jones and Ryan Nemeth. He was also a Bub (grandfather) to Scarlett, Ethan and Emily. He especially loved being a grandfather and sharing his love of nature and rocks with them.  George treasured his family and was always there to support and love them. George gave the best hugs or super-strong handshakes that made his loved ones know that everything was going to be okay.

George was blessed to be born as a twin (Jim) into a large loving Hungarian family.  He was born in Raymond, Alberta, on November 3, 1945, to mother Mary (Kujan) and Paul Nemeth.  He grew up surrounded by brothers and sisters that he loved dearly.

He is survived by sisters Ida (Jim deceased) Munro, Mary (Alvin) Kennedy, Elizabeth (John) Nemeth, Margaret (Hans) Brunner, and brothers Jim (Deb deceased) Nemeth, Bernard (Linda) Nemeth, Joe (Bonnie) Nemeth, Mike (Valerie) Nemeth.

The family would like to thank all the amazing angels in disguise that work on 5A at Lethbridge Regional Hospital. The care he received there was outstanding and gratefully appreciated.

Flowers are gratefully declined, in lieu of flowers please hug someone, let them know they are loved.

A private family Graveside will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully declined, in lieu of flowers please hug someone, let them know they are loved.

Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
