Viola Rodgers

Mrs. Viola Rodgers of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Bruce Rodgers, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018 at the age of 95 years.
Viola was born in Portage La Prairie MB on July 22, 1923. Years later she met and fell in love with her future husband Bruce Rodgers. They were married August 30, 1941. Viola loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Many great times were had when family would visit. The big Christmas suppers where Viola would spend all day cooking and making her 24-hour salad that we all know and loved. Viola spent many days and nights playing UNO and Skip Bo with Bruce and the grandchildren, Bruce would make funny faces at the grandchildren and viola would smack him in the back of the neck. This was a regular occurrence with them so, nothing out of the ordinary. Viola loved gardening and teaching the grandchildren how to plant seeds. Viola also greatly enjoyed playing piano, violin, organ and accordion as well as knitting in her spare time. Viola gave 28 years to school district 51 as well as being a devoted wife and mother. Viola was an amazing, selfless woman that would help anyone in need. Family was always at the top of that list.
Viola Rodgers is survived by her son Brian Rodgers (Faye) Rodgers; two daughters Darlene (Doug) Lindskoog and Faye (Reg) Rublik; grandchildren Dallas (Kristine) Lindskoog, Denise (Andrew) Rasmussen, Deanna (Ryan) Vader, Jason Rodgers, Tricia (Mike) Grimes, Kristin (Reg) Lamb, Landon (Britiny) Kublik, Nevin Kublik, Natasha Trenker and Teanna Trencker; sister Marion Harwood as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, Barb Rodgers and Melissa Olsen.
Besides her loving husband Bruce, Viola was predeceased by her parents Frank and Elizabeth Rowley; brother basil Rowley; sisters Dorothy Cardinal and Helen Davis; grandchildren Shaun Olsen – Rodgers.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at 3:00PM, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge Alberta.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM, on Friday, November 9, 2018, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Reverend James Grunden officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
