MR. WILLIAM ""MORRIS"" JARVIE of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Nita Jarvie for 58 years, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the age of 83 years.
Morris was born in Lethbridge to Anthony and Sarah Jarvie on February 13, 1928. He attended school in Lethbridge and then joined the family business. He told stories of cutting and hauling river ice and digging basements by hand with horses. Morris worked at many occupations joining JA Jarvie Sand and Gravel which later became Lafarge Canada. He spent thirty five years as a dedicated and skilled employee retiring in 1992. He devoted his life to family and enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling. He loved helping his boys with projects from driveways, fences, garages, building stock cars and farming.
His health failed in 2001 and he spent the last two years at the Park Meadows Good Samaritans.
Besides his loving wife Nita, Morris is survived by his sons Bob (Pat), Len (Shelley) and Ken (Tara); grandchildren Jonathan, Kendra, Cole, Dael, Kanyon, Kennedy, and Ryan; sister Dorothy (Charlie) Wells; brother Marshal Jarvie; two sister-in-laws Gladys and Patsy Jarvie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Morris was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Sarah Jarvie; brothers and sisters Tony, Donald, Sandra and Carolyn; sister-in-law Gladys; and brother-in-law Lee.
There will be no funeral at this time. Dad will wait for mom and Services will be held at that time.
