Mrs. Mina Gillott of Lethbridge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away in her 101st year at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Monday, August 17, 2020. 

Mina was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1920, the youngest of five surviving daughters. She met her future husband in grade school, and they married in 1946. She lived a long and healthy life and spent 60 years happily married to Larry.  Among their many involvements were five years of volunteer work in Botswana, where Mom did several different jobs like reading instructions in English for things like knitting machines and teaching local women in Swahili to use those machines.  Mina was friendly with everyone she met and will be missed by many.

Mina was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Gilbert James Henry Gillott, and her son James Edward Gillott.

She is survived by daughters, Mavis Stannard (Barry) and Lois Ross (Kenneth - deceased); grandchildren, Kate and Tony (Nanda); great grandchildren, Joyce and Vidya; and her close friend, Leigh.  Mina will be remembered with love by several nieces and nephews and their children. 

Her last words to her daughter were, “Give my love to everybody.”

A private family service will be held at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Pastor Al Litchfield, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

A private Memorial Service will be held.
