Nadinne Ruth Miller 1954 ~ 2013 Nadinne ""Dene"" Ruth Miller was born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan on July 6, 1954 and was the fifth child to Emmanuel and Ruth Miller. She grew up on the Miller farm, north of Lipton, Saskatchewan and attended school in Lipton. In 1972, she graduated from high school. Following graduation, Dene moved to Alberta and worked at a variety of jobs in Calgary, Edmonton and Grand Prairie. She moved to Lethbridge in the early 1990's and proudly made the city her home. ""You don't have to shovel the wind,"" she would boast about her home city.

Lethbridge was where she raised her daughter Merilee and proudly saw her graduate high school in 1998 and then marry Blake Engel in 2000. For over 20 years Dene enjoyed managing Space Place, U-Haul and Bennison Holdings Ltd. Through her work she was able to relate to people from all walks of life from all parts of Canada and around the world. She enjoyed telling people what to do!

Dene had a wicked sense of humour that she used very effectively with family, friends and her job. She brought laughter wherever she went and always had a smile upon her face.

Having spent her entire adult life in Alberta, her heart and love for her family and for the farm in Saskatchewan was always evident. Family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas were the highlights of her calendar.

Dene was always up for a shopping trip that involved bargains. Her many trips across the border involved family, friends and great deals.

Dene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the age of 58 years. She will be deeply missed by those who survive her, including her daughter Merilee Engel (Blake); her parents Emmanuel and Ruth Miller; her siblings LaVonne Carreau (Raymond), Roger Miller (Linda), Denise Schiml (Ken), Delmar Miller (Mary Lou), and Dallas Miller (Marjorie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A reception will be held for family and friends on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her home from 12:00pm until 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, T1J 9Z9.
