Mike Miskulin

MARK (MIKE) MICHAEL MISKULIN passed away suddenly at the age of 72 years at his home in Lethbridge, on Thursday, March 20th, 2008 with his loving wife by his side.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Kathy, his son Dave (Jan) Miskulin of Winfield, B.C. and his daughter Brenda (Darryl) McDonald of Vulcan, AB. He is the loving grandfather of three grandchildren Gray, Reed and Paige McDonald. He is survived by his sister Tillie (Don) Farrington of Lethbridge and his brother George (Marie) Miskulin of Cawston, B.C., sister-in-law Julie (Marshall) Manning and brother-in-law Steve (Joan) Gulyas both of Lethbridge. Mike will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mike is predeceased by his parents Mike and Rose Miskulin; brothers Joe and Nick Miskulin and sister Anne Matkin.

Mike was born on January 27, 1936 in Lethbridge. After high school, Mike joined the Air Force and apprenticed as an Electronic Technician. Mike married Kathy Gulyas on December 21st, 1957, and just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary which was a wonderful high-light in their life. After five years in the Air Force, Mike returned to Lethbridge and went into partnership with Ed Smith and operated Smith's TV in Coaldale and later in Lethbridge for 16 years. Mike then opened Custom Electronics and operated it for 26 years. Mike was very active with the Legion Credit Union, serving on the board for the last 16 years.

Mike was a gentle engaging man liked by everyone. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball, walking in Indian Battle Park, biking, water skiing, windsurfing, fishing, camping and snow skiing.

He was truly loved and will be missed forever. Mike was an exceptional individual who touched and influenced many lives.

Prayers will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13th St. N., Lethbridge, AB, with Father Raul Hernandez, celebrant. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
