Service Details
MAXINE ESTHER KRAFT left us to be with Ole on July 1, 2007. Max, as she was called by her friends, passed away after a long battle with leukemia. Maxine was born and raised in Sofield, Alberta, the oldest of four children. Her own mother passed away at a young age leaving behind four small children who were split up, two being sent to the United States to relatives and Maxine and Bill remained in Alberta with their father.
Maxine married Ole Kraft in 1949 and began a family in 1953 with first daughter Karen followed by Nita in 1955. Maxine and Ole's passion in life was fishing and camping with friends and family, which continued until Ole's passing. Maxine was always generous with a helping hand and knowledge. She excelled at handy crafts, making wonderful afghans and a multitude of other things.
Maxine is survived by her daughters Karen (Ron) of Pincher Creek, Nita (Norm) of Lethbridge; five grandchildren Cody, Jason, Kylie, Dustin and Boone; three great-grandchildren Justin, Jaydon and Dylan; as well as her brothers Jack Rogers of Magrath and Bill Rogers of Ottawa, Ontario. Besides her beloved husband Ole, Maxine is predeceased by her twin great-grandsons Brandon and Brady and her sister Darlene. She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Hurry Max, Ole is waiting in the boat.
There will be no service by request. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Michaels Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, 1400 - 9 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.
