Marie Mawhinney of Lethbridge, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend, passed away after a battle with cancer on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

Marie was born in Mount Forest, Ontario on October 6, 1951 to Joseph and Cecelia Moyer. She was a hard-working, independent woman who touched many lives in her time. She was a very giving person who took care of others and put their needs before her own. Marie loved being in the company of her family, friends and pets. She especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, reading, trying new recipes, sharing meals and going for coffee, attending mass at St. Basil’s, shopping at craft shows and farmers’ markets, seeing live theatre productions and going on trips with her family; she was always busy with big plans and projects of all kinds.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Celia (Trevor) Clinton, her son Brian Mawhinney, her grandchildren Legacy Krampl, Zachary Clinton and Marley Clinton. Marie is also survived by her sisters Anna Volk, Luci (Dominic) Valentini, Ruth Alves, Cleta (Norm) Heys, and her brothers, Ed Moyer, Lorne (Florence) Moyer, and Alfred (Laurie) Moyer. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Marie will be greatly missed, and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
