The Official Obituary of

Mary Ondrik 1924 ~ 2013 Mary Ondrik of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved wife of John Ondrik Sr passed away at Edith Cavell Care Center on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 70 year John Ondrik, she is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Jerry) Kopjar, John (Teri) Ondrik Jr; her grandchildren Peggy Kopjar, Sandra (Josh) Melling, Brian (Jolynn) Kopjar; great grandchildren, Kody, Quentin, Bryce Kopjar, Taylor Melling. She is predeceased by her parents John (1970) and Anna (1938) Kovach, her infant daughter Peggy Ann Ondrik in 1951 and her great granddaughter Shelby Sharon Melling in 2001. She is also survived her brothers and sisters-in-laws, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary came to Canada from Turice, Czechoslovakia with her mother and father at the age of 12 years. They resided in Lethbridge until 1942 when they moved to Sentinal Alberta. She met and married John at the age 19. In 1957, Mary and John moved back to Lethbridge where they opened a family business where they worked together for 20 years until their retirement. Prayers for Mary will be held on Thursday October 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 25, 2013 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Ave South, Lethbridge, with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Mary lived her last three years at the Edith Cavell Care Centre and the family would like to acknowledge and thank all of those who provided Mary with wonderful care and compassion during her residency. Thank you the Catholic Women`s League for all of their support over the last 30 years of Mary`s membership.
