Mary Fekete

It is with heavy hearts and happy memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother MARY (MITZI) FEKETE on Thursday, July 29, 2010; the day of her 60th wedding anniversary.

Mitzi is survived by her loving soul mate John; children Cathy, Leslie, Betty (Paige); grandchildren Kevin (Simone), Brent (Diane), Darren, Jeff, Danielle, Lisa and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Steve (Ann) Dimnik; Rev. sister Branka Dimnik in Slovenia; sister-in-laws Frances Dimnik, Ivanka Dimnik, Marie Dimnik, Cathy Dimnik in Argentina and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Martin (Zorka), John, Tony, Joe, Peter and 2 sisters Pepca and Cilka (Lojze).

Mitzi was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia on June 27, 1915. She immigrated to Canada in 1949 to Raymond, Alberta. She married her husband John in 1950 in Lethbridge and after living in Taber, Alberta for 2 years they settled in the Crowsnest Pass for the next 32 years. After retirement they moved to Lethbridge, where she lived until the time of her passing. In her early retired years Mitzi enjoyed bowling, golfing, and gardening. She always liked volunteer work and was a loyal CWL member for over 50 years.

Mitzi was an extra-special lady who will be remembered not only for her awesome baking skills and hospitality, but; her generosity and lifelong example of giving, sharing and kind nature. Mitzi always had a deep devotion and conviction to her Catholic faith.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM, on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Tim Boyle, celebrant.
