Mary Bobinec 1923 ~ 2014 The family of Mary Bobinec would like to announce that she passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the age of 90. Mary was born in Pavolovce nad Uhom, Czecho-Slovakia on December 7, 1923 to Andrew and Susan Tolin. In March of 1938, she came to Canada with her mother Susan, brother Andrew and sister Susan. They found their way to Taber and worked on the sugar beet farms in the area. This is where she met her husband to be Mike, and were married in Lethbridge on January 27, 1941. They farmed for a short time in the Readymade area, and had a son Kenneth. They moved into Lethbridge in 1948 where they had another son Lawrence and this is where she resided until her passing. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Andrew, sister Susan and husband Mike. She is survived by a step-sister Helen Petrie, son Kenneth, son Lawrence and grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She took great delight in her garden and growing flowers, and enjoyed camping in the summer. Cooking and baking were also one of her favorite things to do. Everyone who visited could not leave without being fed, or at least having a cup of coffee and desserts. She was a wonderful, practical, kind, gentle and giving person and will be sadly missed but happily remembered. Vigil Rites will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at ST. BASIL'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
