MARLAINE STETTNER of Lethbridge, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away peacefully after a 3 year battle with cancer on Friday December 30, 2011 at the age of 61 years.

Marlaine was born on August 2, 1950 in Edmonton AB to Margaret & Walter Pearson of Calmar, AB. She was raised on the family farm in Calmar and attended school at Calmar School, graduating in 1968. She was a flight attendant for Pacific Western Airlines and that is where she met Larry Stettner and they were married April 19, 1974. Three years later Larry and Marlaine were blessed with their son Kevin Carl on October 10, 1977. In 1978 she and Larry built a house on an acreage where Marly could enjoy her passion of gardening and flowers. Their house was always a beehive of activity with Kevin and his friends of which many of them called her Mom. In 1997 the family moved to Lethbridge to be closer to family Connie & Pete Versluys and Joy & Amos Laczo. Marly worked in and out of the home but being a homemaker was still her first love. Over the years she spent many hours garage saling and making her own jewelry. Many of her friends benefited from her talent of designing custom jewelry. Marly and Larry loved to travel by car on their holidays, where everyday was a new adventure to her because the destination was not always known. Their one big holiday was a cruise to Alaska where for 8 days they had no worries but to enjoy each others company and love. In September of 2009 Marly was diagnosed with cancer and faced it with absolute dignity and a continued zest for life. Marly always wanted grandchildren and on October 16, 2010 Kevin married Sharon and they were immediately blessed with 4 grandchildren Jonathan, Emma, Jessica and Jordan whom she deeply adored with all her heart. Near the end you could continue to see the sparkle in her eye when the grandchildren walked into the room. Marlaine fought to hold on and was able to spend a final Christmas with her family.

Marly will be sorely missed and forever remembered by all those that knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday January 4, 2012 between 7:00PM to 8:00PM at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS LTD, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
