It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark McQuaid, originally of Bedford, Prince Edward Island. Mark passed away peacefully, at Chinook Regional Hospital.

He is survived by his daughter Christina McQuaid (Lance Bellamy) and their children, Hayden, Hanley, Haryson, and Hartley; his son Ryan McQuaid and Ryan's daughter, Sawyer. He also leaves behind his siblings: George, Joseph (Kathy), Vincent (Margo), Louis (Valerie), Susan Cudmore (Frank), Patrick, and Christopher (Kim). Mark was predeceased by his parents, Imelda and Harold McQuaid, his sister Baby McQuaid, and his best friend, Roxanne Emary.

Mark grew up on a farm in Bedford with his siblings, where life was simple and full of hard work. He left the Island as a young man, heading west to Alberta, where he worked in the trades and put his carpentry skills to use and started his family, welcoming Christina and Ryan into the world. Mark later moved his family to Hamilton, Ontario, where he spent much of his life.

Mark loved the simple things: a quiet game of pool, the open road on his Harley, and time spent outdoors. He was reserved and kept to himself, but those close to him knew his loyalty ran deep.

In his later years, Mark returned to Alberta, living in Jasper before settling back in Lethbridge. He enjoyed reconnecting with old friends, soaking up the milder winter, and spending time with his brother Louis and his family.

Mark was a man of few words but strong convictions. He lived life on his own terms, and those who knew him will remember his quiet strength and unwavering sense of self.
