Marjorie Welch
Service Details
MRS. MARJORIE WELCH of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. John Henry (Jack) Welch, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2010, at the age of 80 years.
Marjorie was born in Lethbridge on June 7, 1929 and was the daughter of Nora and Emmett Everson. Marjorie resided in Lethbridge until her passing. She married Jack Welch on August 7, 1954. Together they raised their children here. Marjorie enjoyed her career as a laboratory technician; in her early years she worked at the Roy Clinic and later at the Campbell Clinic until her retirement. As a life-long resident of Lethbridge, Marjorie had a keen interest in Lethbridge's history so it was a natural choice for her and Jack to volunteer for many years at the Galt Museum. Marjorie's greatest joy was spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed by them.
Marjorie was the loving mother of four children, 2 daughters, Paddie (Randy) Walmsley of Coaldale, Judi (Dave) Cassidy of Lethbridge, and 2 sons, Bob (Christine) Welch of Coquitlam, BC, and Norm (Janet) Welch of Red Deer. She was the loving Grandmother of Dylan and Katie Walmsley, Sean and David Cassidy, Patrick Welch, and Emily and Christopher Welch. She is survived by her brother Bill (Maxine) Everson of the Cayman Islands as well as four nieces and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at ST. AUGUSTINE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 - 11 Street South, Lethbridge, with Rev. Canon James Robinson and Canon Allan McCuaig, officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 210D 12A Street North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 2J1, or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9.
