Romans 5:1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

MR. MARINUS BOS of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Gertruda Bos, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the age of 79 years to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marinus was born on July 9, 1928 in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. He married Gertruda van der Tang (Truus) on December 16, 1959 and together with their family immigrated to Canada on June 9, 1981.

Besides his loving wife Gertruda, Marinus is survived by his children, Peter (Gerda), Tony (Wendy), René (Helma), Simon (Ramona), Bert ( Debbie), Louise (Ernst) Sluijmers and John (Heidi); 27 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Marinus (Rien) was predeceased by his parents Pieter and Johanna Bos, a sister and 2 brothers-in-law. Marinus' career started as a dairy farmer in Holland, and he operated a sod farm with the two oldest sons when he moved to Canada. He continued to help out on the farm with mowing the sod fields up to and including the summer of 2007.

Marinus was a very ordinary person in many regards. At the farm he worked hard and with determination. At home as an opa, he took great interest in the lives of his grandchildren.

His real passion was to share his faith in God with whomever he came in contact with. He also expressed God's love for him in a variety of ways: by taking the time to talk to others about the gospel, having an open door to visitors and in the last couple of years volunteering at Bibles For Mission thrift store.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends; but we rejoice in the Lord that he is in a better place. Dad's wish for others is that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

An opportunity for condolences will be given between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 10, 2008 D.V. at BETHEL FREE REFORMED CHURCH in Monarch, with Pastor Jack Schoeman officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery (Scenic Drive).
