The Official Obituary of

MARIA ROSARIA DONATO of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Peter Donato, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa on October 21, 2012 at the age of 94 years. Maria was born October 1, 1918 in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy. She attended school in Laurignano. She came to Canada in October of 1957. She was a homemaker, who loved to knit and crochet. Maria was very devoted to the Madonna Della Catena. Maria was very much in love with her three children. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a joy to her life. They brightened the smile on her face as she played and laughed with them. Maria was a true Calgary Flames fan. She watched every game and cheered them on. She was also a member of the Italian Canadian Club. Maria is survived by her children Frank (Leona) Donato, Teresa (Joe) Mantello and Flora Donato; her ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and her sister Grazia Iachetta. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents Frank and Anna Tutera; a sister; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law. Vigil Rites (prayers) will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH at 604 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 26, 2012 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Father Kevin Tumback celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
