Margaretha Van Biert

Miss. Margaretha Cornelia Van Biert passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Margaret was born January 26, 1935 in Stad aan het Haringvliet, Holland, where she was raised and educated. Margaret immigrated to Canada, arriving in Victoria, BC in 1972. She then moved to Lethbridge in 1973, where she has resided until her passing. Miss. Van Biert worked at the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital for 14 years. Since 1987 she has been a loving caregiver in her home, caring for handicapped adults. A very special relationship resulted between Margaret and those that lived with her. A relationship that led to the formal adoption of Roxene and Sandra to become her daughters.

Margaret was an active member of the Lethbridge Association for Community Living and the Parents Support Group.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Roxene Van Biert and Sandra Van Biert.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the NETHERLANDS REFORMED CONGREGATION, (Howe Road). Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
