Margaret Mulholland

MARGARET MULHOLLAND, our Mom, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the age of 86 years.

Mom was predeceased by our dad, Robert ""Bob"" Mulholland, on October 12, 1996 and by her parents Flossie and Eugene Arendt and her siblings Gordon Arendt, Geneva Palecek and Laura Mae Knutsen. She is survived by her daughter Lori (Robert) King and their children Devynn, Alix and Brant of Lethbridge; son Jim (Carolyn) Mulholland and their children Kelsi, Shayla and Brett of High River.

Mom was born in Eastend, SK on April 19, 1922. She was raised on the family farm. After graduating from Normal School she began her teaching career which became a lifelong passion. In 1950 she met and married Bob Mulholland and they farmed in the Tompkins, SK area until 1974 at which time they retired and moved to Lethbridge.

Mom loved people, when her family was growing up her home was always the gathering place. She was passionate about all sports, especially curling, football, baseball and hockey. She also loved dancing, gardening, canning and playing cards. Mom's greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she treasured.

Mom will be remembered by all who knew her as an extraordinary woman who met challenges head on, had a great sense of humor and a deep faith. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Pastor Brian Magee officiating. A private family interment to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Southern Alberta, 1254 - 3 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0J9.
