It is with great sadness that the family of MARGARET GOLDIE announces her passing on Saturday, July 26th at the age of 83. Margaret was born March 19, 1925 in Nobleford, Alberta and until the age of thirteen lived with her birth parents, David and Jeanie Goldie and her six siblings. In 1938, Margaret came to live with her adopted parents, Robert and Clara Thompson and their children.

Margaret remained in the Nobleford area until she moved to Lethbridge in 1940 and began working at St. Michael's Hospital. Upon leaving St. Michael's, she attended the Lethbridge School of Beauty and began working as a hairdresser. From here, Margaret moved to Crystal Dairy (Silverwood/Alpha Dairy), starting out in the dairy bar and eventually moving to the office. Margaret spent the next 42 years as an office cashier until retiring in February, 1990.

Margaret was an active member of the United Church, joining First United when she moved to Lethbridge. She was a member of the UCW for many years and a lifetime member of the Rebekah's. She established many friendships through church and her involvement in seniors, ceramics and paper tole clubs. While Margaret never married, she was always surrounded by family and friends - a testament to her kind and generous heart.
