Margaret Dueck

MARGARET A. DUECK, beloved wife of the late John A. Dueck passed away at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge on Monday, December 26, 2011 at the age of 101. Margaret was born April 27, 1910 in the Soviet Union in the town of Davlekanova.

Margaret leaves to cherish four sons Walter (Naomi) Dueck, John (Frieda) Dueck , Art (Alice)Dueck, Ron (Gloria) Dueck and two daughters Elsie (David) Wiens, and Helen (Bruno) Toews, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Dueck in 1984 and their daughter Margaret Rose in 1975 and grandson Jason Dueck in 1977.

Margaret came to Canada from Russia in 1926 and settled near Winkler Manitoba. Shortly thereafter she moved to Coaldale where she worked for others until she married her late husband John on May 6, 1937 and then farmed till their retirement in 1973. Margaret and John were married for 47 years. After John's passing Margaret continued making friends, sewing for the needs of the world, and always showed kindness to those in need.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Memorial Service for friends and relatives will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the COALDALE MENNONITE BRETHREN CHRUCH, 2114 - 18 Street, Coaldale, with Reverend Donald Dueck officiating. A private interment will take place on Friday morning at the Coaldale Cemetery, Mennonite Section.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideon's Canada at the Gideon's display at the Church.
