Margaret Mae Collin passed away peacefully in Milk River Long Term Care on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 86 years.
She was born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan, on July 25, 1940, to John and Hazel Schan. She was the oldest of 9 children. Margaret did her schooling in a little schoolhouse named Jellicoe, which still stands proudly in the prairies. Margaret worked hard at any endeavor she took on. She was the epitome of determined; her family would call her stubborn, but that trait got her through many struggles and a few tragedies.
She married the love of her life, Wally, in later years and was able to go on some amazing trips with Wally and good friends, but her favourite pastime was camping and especially fishing. She loved cards and is looking forward to many crib games with her buddies.
She enjoyed watching sports, especially on bonanza days. Ushering (cheering) on the family slowpitch team.
We know her husband, Wally, and her children, Jami and Shawn, are wrapping their arms around her, and if dogs go to heaven, Cassie will be at her feet.
Margaret lived a full life and will be missed by her sons Robert (Pam) and Timothy and son-in-law Paul. She is also survived by Wally’s children: Ron, Sharon, Robert Barbara, Kathy, Bruce, Lynn, John, Ken; and their families.
Marg had 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, 3 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
