Margaret Bonetti

MARGARET CECILIA ""BUDGIE"" BONETTI of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Silvio Joseph Bonetti, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the age of 89 years.

Margaret Morrison was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia on February 5, 1921. At the age of 18 she moved to Halifax to train as a registered nurse at the Halifax Infirmary, and upon completing her education, worked in the infirmary during the 2nd world war. She was proud to be a part of the war effort and felt privileged to assist the injured allied soldiers. After the war, she embarked on an adventure with her best friend Duffy, travelling out west by train for 3 days, to pursue a nursing career in Lethbridge, Alberta. In 1949 Margaret met Silvio Bonetti and soon after, they married.

Margaret and Silvio settled in Taber, and together raised 6 children, Frank, Silvia-Ann, Ron, Ray, Barry and Sandra. Margaret was a loving mother and devoted wife. Her compassion, kindness, graciousness and keen sense of humor will be sadly missed.

Margaret is survived by her daughters Silvia-Ann (Bruce) Buchan and Sandra (Joe) Shanab; sons Frank (Victoria) Bonetti, Ray (Tina) Bonetti and Barry (Camilla) Bonetti; grandchildren Justin, Alex, Max, Marlo, Tara, Kevin, Alia, Spencer, Jackson and Olivia; sisters-in-law Rosie Tallman, Josephine Bonetti; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides her loving husband Silvio, Margaret was predeceased by her parents David and Christina Morrison; brothers Michael, Don, David and her sister Kay.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, on Monday, August 9, 2010, at the ST. MARTHA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Fernando Genogaling, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
