FLORENCE ""IRENE"" LYNDE of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Carl E. Lynde passed away peacefully on October 6, 2011, after an extended stay in continuing care at the age of 85 years.

Irene was born on October 26, 1925 to parents W.Ernest & C.Florence in Rochdale, Lancashire, England. There she was raised and educated along with her only brother ""Jim"". She met her future husband while he was stationed there during WWII. Irene & Carl were married April 21, 1945 and had 58 years together, when Dad passed away June 3, 2003. Irene travelled to Canada as a War Bride in February of 1946, coming to Lethbridge and residing here since.

Mom was a beautiful lady with a wonderful spirit; loved and cherished by family and friends. She was always creative, an exceptional cook and excellent seamstress. Her loving ways, sense of humor, quiet courage and strength of character will be remembered by those that knew and loved her.
Irene is survived by her son Roger (Ann) Lynde - grandchildren Brett and Vanessa, of Medicine Hat; daughter Cathleen (Stan) Herian - grandchildren Daniel, Scott, and Miranda (Dean) Moyer; daughter Sheila Lynde; Randy's son Shaun Lynde of Lethbridge; niece and nephew in the U.S.A.; and extended family in England.

Besides her loving husband Carl, she was predeceased by son ""Randy"" (Carl R. August 2007), her parents and brother, her parents-in-law and sister-in-law Jeanne & husband, and other close family in England.
A special heartfelt thank you is extended to her caregivers, doctors, nurses and other staff at Chinook Regional Hospital & Auxiliary and St. Michael's Health Centre, for your loving and compassionate care of Mom and family all these many years.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 and 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 14, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Deborah Lannon, officiating.

Interment at Mountain View Cemetery
