Luise Goebel

It is with great sadness that the family of LUISE GOEBEL announces her passing on June 14, 2011 at the age of 85 years.

Luise was born in Josefstahl, Ukraine of German descent on May 26, 1926. She married her husband John in Germany on her birthday, May 26, 1951. They immigrated to Canada in 1951 to the Coaldale area where they worked on a beet farm.

Luise was a tireless worker; she enjoyed her flowers, garden, cooking, baking and canning. Luise was a special person, who touched so many with her kind heart and love of family.

Luise will forever be in the hearts and memories of her loved ones. She is survived by two brothers, Willi (Helene) Granson and Jake (Lydia) Granson, both of Coaldale, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her loving husband John, her parents John & Jakobina Granson, sisters Anna, Lydia and Helen, and brothers Fred and John.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 and 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 20, 2011 at REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2006 20 Street, Coaldale, with Pastor Jason Anderson, officiating. Interment to follow in the Coaldale Cemetery.
