MRS. LUELLA TEMPEST CARTER of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Jimmy Carter, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the age of 79 years.
Born on February 28, 1929 in Lethbridge, AB. Luella was raised and educated in the Turin District. She was born to Henry and Maude Nelson, the oldest of three children brother Henry John (Sonny) and sister Joyce. Luella received her teaching degree at the University of Alberta. Luella's first teaching job was at the Enchant School and later at the Vauxhall School. After retiring from teaching, Luella worked at the Vauxhall Scotia Bank and then as a secretary at the Vauxhall school, where she once taught. Luella was an avid curler, traveler and enjoyed flower arranging. Luella archived her Bachelor of Education in teaching and was a member of the United Church in Vauxhall.
Luella is survived by her sister Joyce Siray; stepson Ron (Donna) Carter; nephew Darrel Siray (Braden and Tanner); nieces Veronica Siray and her children Linda (Ray) and Keli, Audrey (Gene) Cervo and their children Bonnie (Josh) Mason, Clinton (Amanda) Cervo; great-great nieces and nephews Taylor, Morgan, and Bailey.
Luella was predeceased by her first husband Sam Virostek Jr. and second husband Jimmy Carter, her parents Henry and Maude Nelson; brother Henry John (Sonny); nephew Kelvin Siray; step-daughter Laverne Hubbard.
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 9A.M. and 10A.M. on Monday, June 2, 2008 with a Funeral Service to follow at 10A.M., at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S. Interment to follow in Archmount Cemetery.
