Louis Stotyn

MR. LOUIS ""LOU"" STOTYN of Monarch, passed away on April 5, 2007 at the age of 96 years.

Lou, the eldest son of William and Stina Stotyn, was born on August 6, 1910 at Monarch, AB.

He grew up on the family farm there and received his education in the Monarch School.

Lou worked for neighboring farmers until he and his brother Tim started farming on their own on a rental basis.

During the last war, Lou served in the army for about 4 years. After his release from the army, Lou bought his first farm from Joe Graves and settled into farming. He was a good farmer and later bought his Father's farm at Monarch.

Lou was always a hard worker and along with farming, he was also a good carpenter, mechanic, book keeper and barber.

Lou leaves to mourn his passing, 4 brothers Tim of Monarch, Bill (Ada) of Abbotsford, B.C., Arie of Lethbridge and Ed (Shiela) of Duncan, B.C.; 2 sisters Hilda (Jim) Sadler, Truda (Walter) Luce all of Calgary; sisters-in-law Vivian, Eileen, Anne, Lena; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Lou was predeceased by 5 brothers Henry, Martin, John, Bernie, Chris; sisters-in-law Olive and Ann.

Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M., on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge.

A PUBLIC Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at MONARCH NOBLEFORD CEMETERY.

A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the MONARCH REFORMED CHURCH, with Pastor Bob Derrick, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Louis's memory to a charity of one's choice.
