Mr. Louis Kopp of Calgary, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Mary Kopp, passed away peacefully at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 94 years.
Born in Granlea, Alberta to Louis and Aneska Kopp in 1929, Louis was the oldest of 9 children. He worked for Trans Canada Pipelines from 1956 until 1994, when he retired. He met Mary and they were married shortly after in 1958, they were together until her passing in 2011. Louis and Mary had 4 children together. Louis was always an active member of the communities he was a part of, from his work with the Rotary Club, to his volunteer work. He was always willing to donate to a worthy cause. He had many hobbies which included, curling, gardening, coin collecting, and he was always a bit of a rock hound.
Louis is survived by his daughters Darcia, Kathleen; son Benjamin; grandchildren Vicki, Sean, Melanie, Ronald, Tim, William; great-grandchildren Anna-Belle, Talon, Quinn, and Casey.
Besides his loving wife Mary, Louis was pre-deceased by his parents and his son David.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
