Lorna DeValois

LORNA de VALOIS of Monarch, beloved wife and dear friend of Harvey William (Bill) Thompson, passed away on April 3, 2011 at the age of 58 years.
Lorna was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 19, 1953. She grew up on the farm near Barons Alberta, the youngest child of Cornelius de Valois and Ingetta de Valois (nee Koole).

Lorna lived most of her life in Southern Alberta with stops in Stirling, Coalhurst, Calgary and Victoria. She enjoyed traveling, skiing, crocheting, needlepoint, music and watching movies. She especially enjoyed spending time with and hearing stories about her grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband Bill, Lorna is survived by two daughters, Heather Coman (David) and Sheila Chavez (Daniel); step children Bill (Rhonda), John (Denise), Dave (Shannon) and Tara; grandchildren, Grace Coman, Alexandra (Allie) Coman, Eric Chavez, Lilly Chavez and Evie Chavez; sister, Marguerite Paulsen (Hans); sister-in-law, Aimee de Valois; nieces, Andrea Paterson, Ingrid Paulsen, Ellen Paulsen and Rachel Wittke; nephews, Arie de Valois and Rob de Valois as well as aunts, Lily Piper and Ann Stone and numerous cousins and their families.

Lorna was predeceased by her parents Ingetta and Cornelius de Valois, her dear brother Allan de Valois and aunt Rita Rider.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating.
