Judith (pronounced whodeet) López Damián, beloved wife of Rev. Jason Anderson, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2008 at the age of 31.
Judith was born January 17, 1977 to her loving parents Judith and Manuel of Chilpancingo, México. As a child she attended primary school in Chilpancingo and every summer enjoyed modern ballet, theatre, swimming and art as well as extended visits with her grandparents in Salamanca. Her parents believed in extending their children's education during the summer, so Judith began coming to Canada at the age of 15 to study English and flirt with the Canadian boys. She graduated at the top of her class in Psychology from the University of Morelos in Cuernavaca. In 1999, she participated in a México/Canada Youth exchange program, where she met her future husband Jason. They were married April 28, 2001 in Cuernavaca, and then moved to Saskatoon, SK, Canada in May.

While residing in Saskatoon, Judith established herself at the University of Saskatchewan. During the next few years she made many friends, had a great variety of experiences in Canada and the US, and enjoyed several visits back to México. She was always eager to participate in the many outdoor activities at Camp Kinasao. She befriended many immigrant people and hosted exchange students. She enjoyed drawing, painting, handcrafts, home decorating, and music. A highlight of her life was dancing with the Cirque de Soleil crew at one of their practices. Judith will fondly be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humour.

She was accepted into the program of Masters of Education in Clinical Counselling at the University of Lethbridge and convocated on October 18, 2008. Her academic achievement speaks much to her intelligence, the value she placed on scholarship, and a love of humanity.
On April 11, 2008, she gave birth to a son, Olaf Damian Anderson. She looked forward to the joys and challenges of motherhood as well as a career.

She was diagnosed with cancer in mid August 2008 but after a series of tests and treatments was not able to beat the disease.

During this last year, Judith experienced her highest joy in sharing the birth of her son Ole with friends and family. She attained her highest academic accomplishment with her Masters Degree. She has suffered the deepest sorrow with her diagnosis of cancer and the greatest tragedy of knowing she will not carry out her new beginnings of Motherhood and Career. She is, however, now in everlasting peace and love in the stronghold of her Lord and Saviour.

Besides her loving husband Jason, Judith is survived by her son Olaf (Ole), grandparents; Manuel and Conchita Lopez, sister; Ariadna, 2 brothers; Ulises (Carmen) and Leonardo, as well as 2 nieces.

Judith is predeceased by her loving grandparents Lupe and Chabe Damian.
A service of evening prayer with Eucharist in memory of Judith will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 17, 2008 at ST. AUGUSTINE'S ANGLICAN CHURCN, 411 - 11 Street South, Lethbridge.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to "" Olaf's Education Fund "" C/O Martin Bros.
