MR. LLOYD LEE MUELLER of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Dorothy Mueller, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the age of 91 years.
Lloyd was born on the family farm about 10 miles north of Warner, AB on October 30, 1917 to parents Rosa and Michael Mueller. After 10 years of schooling at Kessler School and 1 year in Warner, he attended the Olds School of Agriculture, graduating in 1936.
Lloyd farmed until the fall of 1941, at which time he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a Wireless Operator Air Gunner. In December, 1943 he was posted overseas and spent most of his time in Cairo, Egypt and Ankara, Turkey. After his discharge in October 1945 with the rank of Fl. Lt. Lloyd Mueller, he returned to the farm. In off seasons he worked with the Prairie Farm Assistance, and the Alberta Hail and Crop Insurance Agency.
Besides travelling, curling and golfing with Dorothy, Lloyd enjoyed being a member of the BPOE, Royal Canadian Legion and the RCAFA 702 Wing.
Besides his loving wife Dorothy, Lloyd is survived by his brothers Kenneth, George (Selma); sisters Grace, Irene (David), Joyce, and Ruth (Laurie); sister in law Violet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Michael and Rosa Mueller; brothers Oscar, Ray, Rome sisters-in-law Kay, Doris, Leona, Elda; brothers-in-law Fred and Andy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St., South, Lethbridge, AB.
