Lily Crabb

MRS. LILY MARIE CRABB of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Donald Crabb, and cherished mother of Ashley, Mark, Diandra, and Derek, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the age of 50 years.

Born at St. Michael's Hospital in Lethbridge on April 6, 1960, Lily was the second youngest born to Karl and Gladys Ernst. Lily attended Catholic Central High School, graduating in 1978.

Lily was a hard worker, holding positions at various jobs. She began working at Queen's Pizza at the age of 16, where she met the love of her life, Donald. After graduation, she worked at Super ""S"" Drugs where she discovered a love for photography. She continued on to work at Woodwards, where she lovingly enjoyed finding special gifts for her loved ones.

Lily married her husband Donald on September 29, 1984 at St. Basil's Church in Lethbridge. Lily's love for all those around her was felt immensely by her nieces and nephews as her and Donald camped and had sleep-overs with many of them. In 1986 Lily and Donald started their own family, and it was her true calling in life. Lily spent countless hours with her children, putting on the best birthday parties and making each holiday unforgettable.

Lily enjoyed many things, but her love for others was overwhelming. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed feeding others. Lily also loved camping, bowling, photography, drawing, but most of all her children.

After her children all began attending school, Lily decided to give back by beginning her employment at Wilson Middle School. She was well known in School District 51, as she spent many of her days volunteering with her children's schools. She began working in the office, moving up to a Teacher's Assistant. She had found her calling. Lily loved working with those special children and spent countless hours giving her heart and soul to everyone she encountered. Every student became one of her own.

Besides her loving husband Donald, Lily is survived by her four children; Ashley, Mark, Diandra, and Derek; her mother Gladys Ernst, and three sisters; Jean (Blaine) Sleightholm, Theresa (Don) Tokai and Christine (John) Hutchingson.

Lily is predeceased by her father Karl Ernst, her mother-in-law Iris Crabb, her father-in-law William Crabb and her nephew Grant Tokai.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Monday, November 1, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge, with Canon James Robinson, officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Lily's memory c/o Wilson Middle School, 2003 9th Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 1J3, where a memorial award will be awarded in Lily's name to a special child.
