Leah Gerla

MRS. LEAH GERTRUDE GERLA (nee Begg) of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Lloyd Gerla, passed away peacefully at West Highlands Centre on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the age of 89 years.

Leah is survived by her children Jim (Colleen), Marianne Erno, Don (Noreen) and Michael, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her beloved husband she was predeceased by her son-in-law Brian Erno, daughter-in-law Colleen, parents and siblings.

Leah was born in Medicine Hat on April 20, 1923 and grew up on the family farm in Winnifred. She met her husband Lloyd in Calgary while they were both in the army. After the army they married and eventually moved back to Lethbridge.

Leah was an avid golfer and long time member of the Lethbridge Country Club. She loved spending time with family, who will miss Gran's shortbread and apple pies.

At her request there will be a private family service held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of one's choice.
