MR. GEORGE KOZAR of Lethbridge passed away at the Piyami Lodge in Picture Butte on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the age of 96 years.
George is survived by his sister-in-law Gertie Smith of Red Deer, nephews and nieces, Clare and Chris Smith of Calgary, Murray and Barbara Smith of Calgary, Jean and Harry Abtosway of Foam Lake, Ernie and Elaine Smith of Foam Lake, SK, Blanche and Danny White of Young, SK and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
George was born on August 25, 1912 to Konstantyn and Marie Kozar at Rhein, SK, the youngest of 7 children. He worked hard on the railroad and the ranch as well as various other jobs. Ranching was his favorite, he was our true cowboy. He made many trips to Foam Lake to visit his brother Bill and sister-in-law Phyllis and all the family. Lethbridge and Shaunessy are where he lived most of his life. His companion of many years, Mary Rose passed away in 1994. His most trusted friend Jerome lives in Shaunessy. George loved the mountains and many times his nephew Ernie and great niece Laurie would drive him there.
We the family of George would like to thank everyone who had a part in George's life and to whom we say farewell.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the ARCHMOUNT CEMETERY, west Lethbridge on Westside Drive, with Pastor Brian Magee officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Canadian National Institute of the Blind, 410 Stafford Dr. South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 2L2 or to a charity of one's choice.
