MR. DAVID J. KLASSEN beloved husband of Elizabeth, devoted father and grandfather to Karen and Joshua passed away peacefully on July 6, 2007 at the age of 75 years.

David was born on November 25, 1931 in Coaldale where he was raised and educated. He also attended the Menno Bible Institute in Didsbury. Upon his return from Bible School he started farming in the Coaldale area. He was baptized in May of 1950 and was a faithful member of the Coaldale Mennonite Church until the time of his passing. He married Elizabeth Braun on October 24, 1954. David's greatest joys came from his family and his farm. He treasured the close relationships he had with both his immediate and extended family. David had a tremendous passion for farming that stayed with him to the end. He took great pride in his farm and spent many happy hours there.

Besides his loving wife Elizabeth, David will be sadly missed by his daughter Karen and grandson Joshua, 2 brothers Jacob (Mary) and Gerald Klassen, 6 sisters Nettie (Willie) Hildebrandt, Lydia (Jake) Retzlaff, Amalia (John) Dyck, Heidi (John) Retzlaff, Sara (Dave) Derksen and Katie (Dennis) Harder, sisters-in-law Susan and Hilda Klassen, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces.

David was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Aganeta, brothers Henry and Daniel, sister-in-law Linda Klassen, parents-in-law John and Maria Braun, brothers-in-law Bill Braun and Jacob Kampen and nephew James Harder.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00PM and 8:00PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, with Pastor Gerald Klassen and Pastor Manfred Boller officiating. Interment to follow in the Coaldale Cemetery, Mennonite Section.
