1911 ~ 2007

WILLIAM ""BILL"" GEORGE KIRBY of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Alleen and father of Joseph ""Joey"" of Grand Prairie, passed away after a full life and a brief illness on Sunday, September 9, 2007.

Bill was born in Glascote- Warwick, England. He celebrated his 1st birthday on the train somewhere between Halifax and Bow Island. This is where Bill's parents homesteaded. After severe drought the family moved to where there was lots of water, Iron Springs, Alberta where Bill met Alleen Tennant and were married November 23, 1938. They raised one son Joseph who resides in Grand Prairie. After 47 years on the same farm the retired in 1974, they moved to Iron Springs then Picture Butte. The last 25 years they resided in Piyami Manner and Lodge in Picture Butte.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 1:00PM and 1:30PM on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge. After the paying of respects the Graveside Service will be held at 2:00PM in the Archmount Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00PM at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Chaplain Albert Kolk officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9 or to a charity of one's choice.
