KATHARINA FREIHAUT of Coalhurst beloved wife of Frank Freihaut passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital in Calgary on February 24, 2012 at the age of 73 years.

Katharina was born in Vucevci, Croatia on May 5, 1938 to Joseph & Eva Kremenik and the sister to Hans Kremenik. In 1944 the family left Croatia to reside in Kapfenberg, Austria where Katharina finished her schooling. On May 23, 1953 their family immigrated to Canada landing in Raymond-Lethbridge area. Katharina eventually took employment in the grocery trade for 40+ years. She married her love Frank Freihaut on May 10, 1958 and raised 3 children, first living in north Lethbridge then moving to the farm in Kipp in 1966. Her family was very important to Katharina, Robert (Connie) Freihaut, Dean (Lisa) Freihaut, Rosalinde (Guy) Perozak and her grandchildren which she was extremely proud of; Mace Perozak, Forrest, McKenzie, Chance, Meaghan & Brittany Freihaut.

Katharina was an extremely active woman with St. Basil's Church Choir, Catholic Women's league, Ethnic Association, Rocky Mountain Cloggers, 55 Club, Lethbridge Senior Centre and # 1 fan for her grandchildren's sports events. Her greatest passion was dancing although she loved to travel, planting flowers and doing her yard work was also a true love and she worked very hard at it. There was never a day when you left her Kitchen and went home hungry.

Besides her loving parents Joseph & Eva Kremenik, Katharina was predeceased by Paul & Anna Freihaut; son Edward Freihaut and 2 grandsons Kyle & Adam Perozak.
