KATHRYN MATILDE O'BRIEN (nee Wonder) born March 14, 1925 in Hillsdale, Michigan, only child of Harold and Lillian (nee Hardin) Wonder, beloved widow of Dairmuid Phadrig (Pat) O'Brien passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital January 6, 2008.

Kathryn is survived by daughter Maureen O'Brien of Florida, USA, and sons Michael (Teresa) of North Carolina, USA, and David (Louise Cormier) of Lethbridge, and grandchildren Anne Herringer of Toronto, Aidan and Olivier of Lethbridge, and Patrick, Margaret, Sheillagh of North Carolina.

Kathryn graduated from Wooster College, Ohio and started her life adventures as a High School English teacher in Chicago. One of her great loves was the theater and she acted and directed in community theaters in Ontario. A highlight for her was winning 'Best Supporting Actress' at the Dominion Drama Festival in 1967. She also enjoyed music and combined her talents singing in the Guelph Light Opera Company. Kathryn was also active in Saint Joseph's Parish, Guelph. In later years, Kathryn expanded her arts interests to include ceramics and painting.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital 4A for all their care and attentiveness given to Kathryn.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, January 11, 2008 at ST. PATRICK'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 318 - 10 Street South, with Father Raul Hernandez celebrant.
