Kay Lavers

1928 - 2015

Katherine “Kay” Lavers (nee Schoening), of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Lonsdale, her daughter Kathy Lonsdale, and her second husband Thomas Lavers. Kay is survived by her sons, Richard (Janet) and Edward Lonsdale, step-daughters Alyson (Michael), Leslie, and Daphne (Rod) Lavers, grandchildren Ned (Kellie), Daniel (Melanie) and Emily (Sean) Lonsdale, Julian Bailey, Julia(John) Rand, Alanna Shockley and close friends Maxine and Steve.

Kay put many hours in as a volunteer with the Anne Campbell Singers and the Kiwanis Music Festival. She became a director of the Exhibition Board in the 1980's and together with her husband Tom was very involved in Whoop-Up Days. Kay created and organized Hobby World which took over an entire building. She was fond of travelling, gardening and keeping a home where all were welcome. She helped many over the years with her generosity. In recent years Kay enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay's name to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association or a charity of your choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life in The Lounge at River Ridge Condos at 1 p.m. May 16, 2015.
