Katharina Schunk

MRS. KATHARINA SCHUNK (STIMATZ) of Lethbridge passed away on June 26, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Katharina was born on March 10, 1920 in Croatia. She was on excellent cook and baker and she loved to cook for her family and friends.

She was a loving caring mother and is survived by her 2 children Elizabeth (Peter) Kiefer and her son George Stimatz. She is also survived by her sister Anni Scholtzer of Lethbridge; 6 grandchildren Rose Dyer, Richard (Gaye) Kiefer, Kathy (Spencer) Buckland, Randy Stimatz, Lisa Stimatz (Ron Cox) and Tanya Stimatz; 5 great-grandchildren Ricky and Geoff Kiefer, Michael Dyer, Natasha and Katelyn Buckland, they were her pride and joy; nephew Hans Kremenik and 3 nieces Kathy Freihaut, Erika Bosters and Anne Marie Thiessen. She was predeceased by her first husband Hans Stimatz, second husband John Schunk and sister Eva Kremenik.

She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. We would like to thank St. Michaels Health Care Center for their loving care and Dr. David Stewart for all his kind help.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, June 29, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, with Father Raul Hernandez, celebrant. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9.
