Karen Tomasta

MS. KAREN MARIE TOMASTA passed away suddenly on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the age of 51 years.

Karen will be greatly missed by her children, Jason (Leighann) Poitras, Kristina, Michael, and Amanda Poitras of Yellowknife; parents Miro and Lydia Tomasta; siblings Bob (Kathy), Ron (Marilyn), Diane (Tom) Slywka, Nancy (Doug Winter), Rick, Melenie (Sid) de Graaf, Gary (Lana), Lorraine and Antonette.

After graduating from the University of Alberta, Karen moved to the North West Territories, working and making a living for herself. She was an active member in her community and church. She loved to play broomball as well as other sports. She was a strong and good hearted person with an infectious smile and was a loving mother to her children. Karen will always be remembered as an inspirational and caring person.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, January 7, 2007 at ST. AMBROSE CHURCH, 1513 - 23 Ave, Coaldale, with Father Wilbert Chin Jon celebrant. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
