Juanita Takahashi
Service Details
JUANITA MARIE TAKAHASHI (née Waslovich), born March 18, 1939, died of heart failure at her home in Lethbridge in the early morning of November 18, 2011.
Born and raised in Lethbridge, Juanita was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles throughout her life and in the early days of her membership participated in their Precision Drill Team. She was also proud to be a KOPS of the TOPS, Alberta Chapter. Her main loves were dancing, walking down the river bottom, and picking weeds in her garden. She made the best soup, chili and cabbage rolls in the world.
Her infectious laugh and smile will forever be in our memories. Her generosity and warmth to all who had the pleasure in sharing her day-to-day life will always be remembered.
She tried to live her life according to her favorite prayer from her Al-Anon group:
The Serenity Prayer (abridged)
""God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.""
We are relieved in the knowledge that her long struggle with post polio is now over and that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is now forever without pain. May the light of God surround her!
As to her request, there will be no funeral services, but there will be a memorial to celebrate her life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
