JOYCE EVELYN PENNINGTON of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Norman Pennington, passed away on May 4, 2011 at the age of 84 years.
Joyce was born on August 9, 1926 in Calgary, Alberta. As a young child she moved to Standard, Alberta and then they homesteaded in Athabasca. They later moved to the Nobleford District. She lived many years in Shaughnessy, moving to Lethbridge where she took her LPN training and worked for 25 years at St. Michael's Hospital. After retirement Joyce and Norman enjoyed many years of camping and fishing together.
Besides her loving husband Norman, Joyce is survived by her daughters; Carol (Warren Mickels) McGuire, and Brenda (Barb Halladay) Pennington, her sons; Robert Perry and Lyle (Lorraine) Pennington, her grandchildren; Darren, Craig, Annie, Shari, Sarah and Christine, and great grandchildren; Miykala, Morganne, Seth, Carson and Landon. She is also survived by sisters; Dorothy Garrett of Shaughnessy and Kay (Bob) Sallenback of Calgary, and brothers; John (Darlene) Nordquist of Vernon, George (Shirley) Nordquist of Shaughnessy and Roy Nordquist of Fruitville, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents Alice and John Nordquist, her first husband Wes Perry, her second husband Harvey Norgardt, her brother Arvid, and sisters; Lois, Lenora and Ada.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 9, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Canon Allan McCuaig, officiating.
Interment to follow at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
