Jon Thorlacius

DR. JON MACRAE THORLACIUS, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Beth) Thorlacius, passed away peacefully at the Fairmont Park Extendicare on October 12, 2011 at the age of 83 years.

Besides his loving wife of 60 years, Jon is survived by four children: Debbie, Brian (Teri), Charlene (Raniero) Zucco and Darlene (Dennis) Setoguchi. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Lyndsay (Jordi), Ann, Jill and Macrae; and two step-grandchildren, Tony and Sierra.

Jon had a distinguished career in the field of education retiring in 1985 as the Dean of Education at the U of L. Prior to that, he was a teacher and vice principal at both Wilson Junior High and Sir Winston Churchill High School.

A special heartfelt thank you is extended to the wonderful staff at both Park Meadows Cottage #2 and Fairmont Extendicare for their compassionate care of Jon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 15 Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating.

Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
