John worked for the provincial government for 35 years. His education and initial profession was a Psychiatric Nurse for a few years before he went on to become a social worker. His career saw his family move to various locations throughout Alberta. During John’s career he had projects that involved working with the Indigenous child welfare project. His career ended with him having been the regional director of Human Resources and Employment for the south region until retirement. He did some work post-retirement with the Blood Tribe for a few years.
John was a hunter, hockey player, golfer and had many other hobbies and activities. He was also an excellent cook. He loved life and his family. The last year was one of the hardest, we did not talk a lot about dying, he just lived. He did it with gratitude and dignity.
We would like to thank all the healthcare workers that helped John along the way.
Side note, just remember to be kind.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If one would like to choose so, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
