JOHN C. ""JACK"" ROSS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Marjorie E. Ross, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the age of 82 years.

Jack was born in Lethbridge on June 12, 1925 to George G. and Rodney Ross. He attended school at St. Kilda where he had to ride a horse 5 miles to get there. From there he lived in Lethbridge to attend the Bowman School then moved to the Aden Ranch where he attended the Grassy Butte School at Aden. He finished grade 12 at Mount Royal College in Calgary. He took machine shop, welding and heavy duty mechanics at SAIT. Jack spent his lifetime managing the family ranch in Aden, AB. He also loved flying and in 1946 he traveled to Sea Island, Vancouver to obtain his pilot's license. His main interests were ranching and flying. In 1963, he became a director on the board of Central Del-Rio Oil and Gas. The company eventually evolved into Pan-Canadian Petroleum now known as Encana Corporation. He was a director for 33 years. He held membership in the Flying Farmers, Elks Club, Chinook Club and the Ranchmen's Club in Calgary.

Besides his loving wife Marjorie, Jack is survived by his sons John A. and David Ross; grandsons Darren A. and Ryan W. Ross; sister-in-law Margaret Ross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents George and Rodney Ross, brothers George Jr. and Walter ""Stubb"" Ross, sister Grace Ross and sister-in-law Eileen Ross.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 - 15 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Cathie Coates officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, family plot.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to a charity of one's choice.
