JOHN (Jack) RENNIE ELLIOTT born July 22, 1916 to George & Mary Elliott in Tugaske, Saskatchewan, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the age of 95 years.
While serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Ft. Macleod he met and married his wife Thelma in June 1942. Jack worked at Enerson Motors and J&J Farm Supplies in Lethbridge and in 1966 they moved to Bow Island where he operated the UFA Bulk Plant. In 1984 he retired and he and Thelma moved to Coaldale and following Thelma's passing he moved to Lethbridge. Jack was the Master and past Master of the Lethbridge Masonic Lodge. Jack enjoyed curling and watching curling on T.V. Jack had many friends at the Heritage Lodge and enjoyed spending time with them and they deeply enjoyed his sense of humor.
Jack is survived by his children Barbara Herfst of Chilliwack, BC, Faye (Don) Hamilton and David Elliott both of Lethbridge, AB; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Gladys) Elliott; brothers in law Lyle (Grace) Fairhurst, Doug and Russell Faihurst; sister in law Faye Oshiro; as well numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides his loving wife Thelma, Jack was predeceased by his parents; sons in law Ken Herfst, Dale McDonald and Mark Vucurevich; grandson Blake Elliott; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
