MR. JOHN CARNINE of Lethbridge passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the age of 82 years.
John was born in 1926 to Leroy and Grace Carnine in New Dayton, AB. He took his schooling in New Dayton completing his grade 12. He joined the Canadian Navy in 1944 and served until late 1945. John attended S.A.I.T. and completed his studies in farm construction. He held many positions in the Agriculture field and was a founding member of the Alberta Barley Grower's Association. He was also a past president of the Alberta Cattle Feeder's Association; an active member of the Boy Scouts of Canada and served as the District Commissioner for Southern Alberta. He played basketball in his younger years and was a member of the New Dayton Ramblers team who won the Alberta Championship in 51 and 52.
John is survived by his children Wendy (Bruce) Christensen, Dorothy Carnine, Sandra Carnine, Nancy (Leo) Lacourse, Lance (Joyce) Carnine; brother Grant (Beryl) Carnine; grandchildren Ali, Nicole, Chad, Coralee, Teresa; great-grandchildren Brayden and Kaylee.
A Visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. & 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
