JOHANNA PLAUSTEINER
1926 ~ 2015

Johanna (Stropnik) Plausteiner of Lethbridge, AB, passed away peacefully at St Michael’s Palliative care on January 15, 2015 at the age of 88.

Born June 16, 1926, in Vojnik Slovenija, second oldest of 9 children. She immigrated to Canada 1954 settled in Lethbridge where she resided until her passing.

Johanna was predeceased by her husband Johann; her son Allan; grandchildren Dina and Sean Palmer, Jessie Plausteiner; son in law Garrett Palmer; parents Franc and Antonia Stropnik; sisters Fanika, Micika; brothers Tonci, Pepi and Franci.

She leaves behind to mourn, her daughters Erika (Gerry) Palmer, Johanna (Peter) Johner; sons Ivan (Stephie) Stropnik, Frank Plausteiner, Joe (Naomi) Plausteiner, Stan (Rhonda) Plausteiner; Grandchildren, Irena, Jason, Jamie, Christine, Lisa, Kyle, Kelly, Kayla, Ryan, Rhonda and Diane; and 12 great grandchildren. In Slovenija sisters, Paula, Hermina and brother Ivan.

Mom loved to swim, walk, garden, bake and cook. She was a member of the CWL, and active in the senior’s community for many years.

We will miss her love, strength and courage, but know mom is at peace and in the company of many loved ones.

Family wish to extend our heartfelt thank you to staff at Columbia Age Care, St Michaels Palliative care unit and the doctors who looked after our precious mother.
Prayers will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, January 23, 2015 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405-12 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, with Father Kevin Tumback, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, mom has requested that donations be made to Muscular Dystrophy, Suite 104, 10335-172 St., Edmonton, AB, T5S 1K9
